When I try to compile some program I get this message in the compile-log:
gcc.exe: installation problem, cannot exec `cc1plus': No such file or directory
But it is in C:\DEV-Cpp\libexec\gcc\mingw32\3.4.2
What is wrong ??

The thread titled "PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING A QUESTION" tells you what information is needed to have a hope of answering your question. It also has advice on a number of common issues. If you are using Windows Vista, there is specific advice that you need to follow; the problem you describe is typical of those found when using Vista.

I had read PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING A QUESTION and had found almost the same question, but I didn't find an answer. I had looked for the information in various places, but evidently I am not smart enough for you. I still would like to know the answer. That is why we use forums. Yes I am sure the answer is somewhere in the world.

But you didn't bother with the section on the Basic 3? The very first section?
Think about this for a minute. You have not told us what OS your are running.
You have not even told us what version of Dev your are using. Yet you expect
someone to magically have an answer?
Please post your Basic 3. If you have tried some of the work arounds for, say,
using Dev with Vista, you need to tell us exactly what you did. Telling us
that you "did just what they said" really doesn't tell us anything.

Someone points out the information that you did not provide, and
instead of looking at what they say with intellectual honesty and
saying "You know, there is a lot I didn't say that I should have",
you act like a petulent child and complain that people weren't
nice enough to you, and didn't provide you with aa magic spell
to fix your problems?

>> That proves it.
How does it prove anything other than your own arrogance and foolishness?
We would like to answer your question; but in doing that we need certain information, otherwise you will just get wild guesses, which won't help you unless we get real lucky! The thread I mentioned does not just give answers, it tells you how to ask a question for which you have not found an answer, in a way that gives us the best chance of answering. If I were diagnosing the problem on a computer in fornt of me I would look for exactly the information you have been asked to provide. What is unreasonable about that.
You are the one with the problem, the only person a solution matters to is you, and it looks like with that attitude you won't solve it. I should not worry however, because with such lack of rational thought you are not really cut-out for success in programming in any case.
You are right of course, this is the worst forum in many ways: it screws up code formatting, it has no sticky-thread capability, it messes up URLs if you merely place a full-stop after it, and mostly too few people posting seem to read, understand, or appreciate the point of the "read first" thread. That said, it is the best place to get Dev-C++ specific help, and you will get that in abundance if you choose to play by the rules and etiquette of this forum.

And replying leads to a funny, out of order thread.
I posted this to bring Clifford's reply to the bottom
(or the top, depending on your perspective).

That proves it. I have never come across a forum as bad as this one,
and I doubt there are any.
Thanks anyway
