How to disable column selection in the IDE?

This laptop s mousepad usually introduces a command when I use some key
combinations that turn on column selection in the current window. Text
selection is seemingly disabled but it is in column mode. I could not find
again the documented key combination to toggle column selection on/off ! I can
cure it by closing the window and opening it again but it loses my bookmarks.
