When I make a setup and do what is told and when the setup is ready and I click "test setup", then I get the error message "Setup is unable to find _setup.dll, which is needed to complete the installation.
Error 103."
What to do?

Did anyone ever respond to this posting (or to the other one here on the same topic)? I see nothing, and have a student with the same problem right now.
Could other details be relevant? I'd like to know if visual inspection shows this file to be missing. For instance, when I unzip "devcpp4.zip", I find "_setup.dll" in the resulting "devcpp4" directory. Do people experiencing this problem see it?
Naive Windows question: Could there be some path setup problem finding "_setup.dll" if the unzipped installation files are not on the C:\ drive? This doesn't sound likely. It seems much more likely that "setup.exe" would find "_setup.dll" if the two of them are in the same directory, no matter whether that directory is on a C:\ drive, on a CD-ROM, or whatever.
Thanks for any feedback or insight.

The _setup.dll thing is available for download on the dev resource site. It's sort of retarded why it wasn't included in the first place. By the way, you are using a really ancient version of dev and might want to upgrade to Dev 4.9.6.0, then use the built in web updater to 4.9.5.6 i believe. Good luck =)
