Actually, I've been looking at Free Lazarus/Free Pascal again. It appears to have SynEdit already installed. Lots of the visual components are now available. It "might" be mature enough now to consider a port.
Anyone interested in working with me to give this the old college try?

would it be hard to do it?
it would increase Portability of Devcpp i think.

afaik no, and I think it would be really hard. it's not just language, there's plenty of classes and visual forms
