How to get sources (CVS does not work for me)

I'm trying to get access to the sources via the method diescribed on the page, but I can't get passed the login stage. When I do:

$ cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/dev-cpp login

I get:

Logging in to :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:2401/cvsroot/dev-cpp
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

I'm using CVS version 1.11.6 from CygWin. I've tried it on my linux box and using WinCVS but I was unsuccessfull with all my trials. Could you help me?
