I lurked a little bit around there, and it actually looks great! They actually interfaced the standard Delphi components, and provide Linux and Win32 versions of the software. I have Borland's Delphi and C++Builder, version 4.0, but right now I am considering to migrate the development efforts to Linux. The only reason to work on Windows had to do with the visual component enhancements and ease to produce GUIs, but things have improved indeed in the last couple of years in the Linux world...Not to mention Linux stability: it has never crashed on me...which is a relief I have never had with Windows...On this issue, some babbling follows:
The other day I reflected a little on the issue of why Windows has virtually overtaken the computer market, its future, etc. At the end I came to the conclusion that Windows also plays a role in providing lazy users with the lazy and vegetative way of accessing IT niceties such as an office desktop and internet. Microsoft did monopolised the market, but did so relying on people's lazines, whic leads right into ignorance: a typical vicious circle. Let's ask a question: How many people would devote part of their time to learn how to set up a computer and install an operating system like Linux? My answer: very few, and I would rather say: a very reduced minority who actually care about knowing how things work. Linux has gone a long way in terms of user friendliness, but you will always find those who want to do no more than double-clicking "set up". At the end that creates dependence based on ignorance, and they have to pay for it, and everyone knows how the story goes for there on. OK, end of the babbling part.
Thank you for the hint on Lazarus...good one.

at some point I was even attempting to steal their visual development components. Except I have started a milion things, and I would like to finish at least some of them. In the meantime we he wxDev-Cpp - equally good. Have tried it?

I ran across this the other day, and wondered whether it is old news to the development team:

You are a gentleman and a scholar!
Wayne
meaning you like this software? the author insisted on including it into current dev-cpp. I would rather see it as a plugin....
Meaning you went out of your way to provide the link. Thanks. Will take a look when panic time ends...
