fmod.chm:
This is the manual for FMod, I suggest you include it all in there, but you
probably won't so you could put this in the "supplementary help packages".
gdb.hlp:
This file is the manual for the gdb debugger. Like FMod, it is all linked
from the main help file. So the ONLY thing you should have under the Help
tab on the menu bar should just be "Help".
help.cnt:
This is the table of contents file for help.hlp. It is a critical file and
has to be distributed with dev5.
help.hlp:
This is the core help file and, like the above, is a critical file and has
to be distributed with dev5.
OCRAETX.TTF:
This is the font that the help file uses. It is another critical file. It
MUST be installed on the users system or else the help file will look all
gay and fucked up. This is up to you guys to take care of when packaging
dev5 for install. I guess it goes in \fonts directory, but who cares, I know
I don't. ;).
win32.hlp:
This is another help file linked to the main help file. It is the win32 API
reference. It includes directx, winsock, etc. I strongly recommend that you
just put all of this stuff together in dev5 instead of leaving it up to the
user to download and install. I think it is ok to include it because it
hasn't been modified.
Summary:
We all know how dumb a lot of the people are that use dev. Its obvious by
all the stupid questions they are always asking in the forum. If you include
the whole help system (around 18 megs), and all the libraries one needs to
do pretty much anything (opengl, directx8, allegro, etc), then we will put
less responsibilty on the user to get stuff and set it up and cut down on all the stupid questions. If the end dev5 install is 70 megs, so be it. It is worth it because everyone will have everything. And if you are worried about hosting that, I will more than gladly host it on my zero47.com server (i own the site btw). I get a couple gigs a month (but they are dumb and never check anyways). Think about it, 70 megs is still less than half the size of borland and m$vc. :).

P.S. Can I have my splash screen now? :)

Hey guys,
The help file is done. From here on it is simply a matter of improving it.
My hope is that everything can be distributed together in ONE install
program with all the libraries included (including the core help file). The
archive can be leeched at:
http://www.zero47.com/files/help.zip
There are a couple of notes I would like to make about each file in the
archive. This is pretty important so pay attention :p:

btw, I almost forgot. Remember that update module I was talking about? I started writing it in dev in c++. Should be done in a few weeks. :)
