Submitted by Roberto Alsina:
A UnicodeDecodeError exception is raised somewhere in the HNJ-based hyphenator code (I don't have an example at hand).
I tested the following:
c:\python25\python PyHnjHyphenator.py -v Prüfung
This worked fine. However, if I set purePython=False in the constructor at the end of the file, then I get a UnicodeDecodeError, followed by an GPF (on windows).
A much better native hyphenation is pyhyphen (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/PyHyphen).
It is licensed under GPL 2, however. I'll try adding support for it.
Please try the new pyhyphen-based hyphenator (SVN revision 19) instead of PyHnjHyphenator.
It works much better for me.
