Am experiencing problem in both of my systems, XP
and ME with running Decal in Asheron's Call. I get the
error for failure to enumerate direct draw when running
Decal and trying to start AC. Problem didn't start until I
loaded the new DirectX 9. And once DirectX 9 is
installed it can not be uninstalled unless you made a
system restore backup prior to installing. I can still play
AC if Decal is turned off, it is the interaction with Decal
and the new DirectX.
Hey you great Decal developers, send us help quick,
my clan needs my buff bot, lol.

I have the same problem Disabling the Identify Queue Filter
makes it go away.

I found a solution to this.
I had loaded up the production release (2.5.0.1 final).
Then, when I did an update, I said 'yes' to 'download new
beta DLLs'.
The second step seems to have been the mistake. The beta
DLLs seem to be incompatible with 2.5.0.1. When I installed
2.5.0.2 (beta), the updated DLLs worked correctly.
A workaround is to disable the identify queue.
