This is the Wiki of DebianNetworkSimulator. Here you can find info and guides on how to use the virtualmachine.

Before starting with links to other pages, please be aware that:

• Default D.N.S. user is dnsuser and default password is dnspasswd. Root password is dnsr00t.
• The VirtualMachine is prepared and will run on Oracle Virtualbox. So, please install it on your PC (Windows, GNU/Linux, Mac) to have D.N.S. running.
• The VirtualMachine guest is running Debian GNU/Linux "testing" version with repositories update frozen at 16.11.2013.
• The configuration of the network NICs of D.N.S. is DHCP on both the 2 adapters already activated. However, both adapters are not connected. That means that you will need to modify the configuration of the virtual machine in Virtualbox Manager (a guide will follow).
• The minimum recommended amount of RAM to use with D.N.S. is 1GB. However, you can always increase that amont in your Virtualbox Manager.
• The actual and basic configuration of D.N.S. has a ready to use:
  • GNS3 0.8.6;
  • VPCS, VirtualPCS - PC client emulation (max 10 clients);
  • Wireshark
  • Qemu 0.11 + olive patch - DNS is JunOS ready-to-use!
  • D.N.S. Control Panel - Bash script to add new features without downloading the whole VM.
