D.N.S. Control Panel

D.N.S. Control Panel is the key feature of the Virtual Machine. It is a bash script that you can use to install new features as soon as the dev team will add and release them, also thanks to the selfupdate function of the script itself (more info later).

The goal of using the control panel is to give the opportunity to download at the beginning a very light and fast virtual machine and then to add only the features that you will need for your studies.

The use of D.N.S. is very easy. You can start it clicking on the button in the app launch bar or double clicking the icon on the Desktop:

Once the Control Panel is started, the use is really easy. Just select the function/feature you want to add and press enter. For example, to install the GNU/Linux MicroCore "base" client, you can select the MB option.

DNS Control Panel has a built-in auto update option that shows you, as soon as you start it, if a new version of the script itself is available.

In such case, you can select the option n. 1 from the main menu and the script will start the auto update. Don't forget to then quit the script and start it again!!
