The State of the Project

Hard work is still being done with DC and the new version has animated sprites as well as a few other minor improvements. Look for v0.8.0 before the next D.C.W.C.B.T. in January 2k06. Show up to compete against the current world champion Jon and steal the title!

DeadlyCobra 0.7.0 provides multiplayer support

Deadly Cobra is an SDL based game similar to the classic Nibbles or snake game. The point is to eat as many "Men" as possible without eating yourself or hitting a wall. Features include single & multiplayer modes, cool 2-D graphics and great music.

DeadlyCobra has reached a big milestone in its snake history today. Multiplayer support is now available as well as the new "Longest Snake Mode". It has been a long time since a release, but this one is sure worth it. Practice hard everyone, because the DeadlyCobra World Championship Belt Tournament is Saturday, January 15th, 2005.... read more

Multiplayer Version

The new multiplayer version with lots of other optimizations and tweaks throughout the game is ready. We just need some new music. Please email outbak if you have any to contribute. Basically, we want a few short, loopable tunes that are 1+ mins long. If you can also make sound effects, that is needed as well. Please help get DC Multiplayer to the masses.

P.S. DeadlyCobra World Championship Belt Tournament is coming soon.

Contest Over! DC 0.4.0 Released.

That's right, we finally reached the deadline for the no-starch press contest. DC has come a long way and drzaius and I are happy with our project. We would have liked to implement a few more things for the contest release and we were very rushed the last few days, but I'm sure the judge's will love it. A Win32 binary should be available soon, thanks for following the project up to now and remember this is the beginning. Keep your eye out for DeadlyCobra.NET edition. LOL, bye.

Code Release!

The preliminary code to the DC project has been released. This is by no means "playable", it merely stands as a testbed for our projects design.
