Installing:Ubuntu

DeaDBeeF 0.4 installation from source (Ubuntu 9.10 or 10.04)

1) install packages (with dependencies):

libasound2-dev
libpulse-dev
libmad0-dev
libwavpack-dev
libsndfile1-dev
libcdio-dev
libcddb2-dev
automake
libtool
libsamplerate0-dev
libgtk2.0-dev
libavformat-dev
libcurl4-gnutls-dev

2) download source tarball from DeaDBeeF official website

3) say:
./configure
make
sudo make install

DeaDBeeF 0.4 installation from PPA (Ubuntu 9.10 or 10.04)

1) say:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexey-smirnov/deadbeef

2) open Synaptic Package Manager, press "Reload" button

3) search package "deadbeef" in Synaptic, mark it and press "Apply"
