I prefer Anim8or to blender.  It's simpler, but more effective in my 
opinion.  It has a better, more intuitive interface (man, I hate the blender 
interface... I keep clicking, but nothing's happening!  Hmm... What mode am 
I in?  Oh, squiggly line; yeah, I think I need to switch to amorphous 
blob... maybe.), can process far more polygons at a more efficient rate, 
and, of course, animation is a breeze (though it can be somewhat stilted at 
times).  The only real drawback that I know of is that it doesn't have that 
really cool feature in blender where you can paint directly to the model.  
There might be some other stuff, I didn't use blender that much.
