Brightness control via KDE battery widget works just fine with 2 of those
connected to alt-mode USB-C with 2xDP MST dongle. So, thank you :)

Please let me know if those ioctl() failures are not typical. Could be
missing kernel configuration on my part (Gentoo user here).
