DCRaw4J 1.1 Released

DCRaw4J 1.1 is a minor release of the Java-based digital camera RAW processing utility, but it adds a couple of nice features and fixes a significant bug. DCRaw4J 1.1 still only handles Canon CRW files, but no longer requires plugin configuration.

- No more green dots! A silly typo was causing random green pixels to show up in processed images. This is no longer the case.

DCRaw4J 1.0 Released

DCRaw4J is a pure-Java implementation for processing digital camera RAW files into 8-bit JPEGs, 16-bit TIFFs and 16-bit linear TIFFs.

Version 1.0 is now available on SourceForge.net, bundled with the Canon CRW plugin. More plugins are coming soon.

DCRaw4J was inspired by David Coffin's dcraw.c, and provides the same command-line functionality. It may also be used as a pure-Java library in other applications, though, unlike dcraw.c.

DCRaw4J alpha release available

DCRaw4J converts digital camera RAW files into viewable images like JPEGs, 16-bit TIFFs and 16-bit linear TIFFs.

An early alpha release is now available for anyone who wishes to try it out. In addition to the core library and CRW plugin, a Windows batch script is provided for running DCRaw4J in command-line mode. A sample CRW file is provided for demonstration purposes, as well as a demo batch file (run-me.bat).... read more

DCRaw4J Coming Soon!

DCRaw4J converts digital camera raw image files into standard formats such as JPEG and TIFF. As the name implies, DCRaw4J is based on David Coffin's dcraw; a C program that handles raw formats from over 200 cameras. At this point, saying DCRaw4J was inspired by dcraw is probably more accurate.
