#235 Can't type over XXX

When first starting data entry (in first field) on stmt of
operations with auto-tab checked, user can't input a value
until manually erasing the XXX prefill. This is true even
though the XXX is highlighted. This does not happen if the
auto-tab is unchecked or if dialogs is unchecked.
