The couldnt init message queue error should not occur if you
shut down DccAssist before you shut down XChat. Im still
working to take away the problem totally, but it should be
fine if you shut down XChat last.

sometimes dcc assist crashes with the following output (and
then the couldnt init message error occurs too). it says
out of memory:

if dccassist is running too long then it crashes with an out
of memory message. when i restart dccassist after getting
this error i get the couldnt init message queue error too.
i think that you have forgotten to free memory. here is the
