Today, I set the SF project status to inactive, in order to reflect the status it's had over the past year+
I had fun making it, learned a lot, I hope you had fun using it
If you want to take over the project, please be my guest and post a message in the Forum
Cheers,
KoningLat
The latest release supports colouring and other textual wizardries from IRC (read: mIRC) to IRC, while neatly omitting those for chat sent to NMDC and ADC
A lot of minor bugfixes brought out to light this fine release, as well as a new option: Leech
Accompanied by a new manual of course! Bigger & fatter than before, 43 pages now
Go get it while it's hot

For the happy few: Unicode is now supported between IRC channels and Direct Connect's ADC-hubs, and vice versa of course
Just now DC-hublink 1.2.0 has been released, with a lot of new features among which full compatibility with IRC-channels and servers
Also, a big fat 30-page PDF manual with screenshots and detailed instructions on how to use dc-hublink
Enjoy, happy chats,
KoningLat
I'm currently working on adding IRC-support as well. That might be a while, and will require some extensive testing as I'm not familiar with IRC at all. If you have suggestions for servers and channels to use for this, I'd be more than happy

Changed: performance problems loading nicklist on large primary hubs running Ynhub. Takes about 3 seconds per 1,000 users with my cheap 2.6 Celeron. I'd still advise to take a small hub as primary hub, but if you have none, at least this is a lot better. You can also Disable the nicklist (check the button on the nicklist) which will stop users being added to or removed from it
Added: Users in nicklist can be PM-ed now, just right-click on them
Added: A command to list all online users, per hub, including user count per hub. On request of Kevin H
Added: Nick change on Hexhub is now supported... read more
After 70 days of doing nothing, I've decided to pick up the project again
1.1.4 will contain the nickchanges for ADC, Hexhub, and PtokaX latest version (that supposedly supports it too now - don't get around much so not sure)
Fixed a few bugs, varying from rare to very rare
Changed performance for nicklist, now takes 20-30 seconds (Celeron CPU) for 9K users in primary hub
Added support for Hexhub
Only users / bots in nicklist are relayed now
Now with full Unicode / UTF-8 support for NMDC - ADC and vice versa
NMDC-NDMC and ADC-ADC works fine also
1.1.1 is out, now fully supports ADC protocol
Hubs can now also be dynamically added, removed, included or excluded without stopping/starting DC-hublink
A fully working NMDC/ADC capable release will be out this weekend
Currently having run for 24 hours, no bugs or crashes were encountered
Additions: dynamically add or enable / disable hubs, auto-connect to new hubs without having to stop / start
1.1.0 crashes after 2.5 hours of operation.
1.0.14 has been put back on the download page, currently fixed the bug in 1.1.1
However, as that will also contain dynamically adding / removing hubs, and full ADC support, in the future there won't be anything released before the current version has been running unattended, and unchanged, for at least 24 hours
Sorry folks
Bit of a bummer, no ADC yet.
And yeah, I did again (that's three) forget to enable the GUI move
Hope to be releasing a proper version next time, with good ADC support, although I've already found out almost every other hub soft has its own interpretation...
Due to a bug when a verli hub was selected as primary hub, 1.0.14 is released
Next version, 1.1.0, is still to be released later this week / early this weekend
1.1.0, next planned release, will support ADC-based hub softs as well, next to NMDC
It will automatically determine which protocol to use, no need to fuss around
Might be a few days to do that, although in theory it should only take a few hours...
Ability to filter on "bad words" now, these will just stay in the hub and not be relayed.
These are case-insensitive, as well as "space-insensitive"
Due to popular demand, it will be made possible to check for "bad words" too, i.e. http:// and dchub:// stuff, etc
Will be a mayor pain GUI-wise, no idea where to put that. Even if stuff is "filtered", that will only mean it stays in the hub where it came from, and not be relayed.
Possible action could be undertaken as well of course, again with the distinction between OP and non-OPs... read more
Fixed: forgot to undo the debug-hack (again, that's twice) that allows me to debug the application, and which takes care of proper alignment when a screen is moved
Fixed: somehow an entirely numerical Nick would really screw things up. Probably some VB thingy, not a clue @ mo. Anyway, fixed now
Changed: hub addy will show the web site now, not the sourceforge project entry
Changed: added a bit to the About box, had to change font to Arial 9... read more
Just found out that the sibbling-screens in 1.0.11 are not moving along when the main screen is moved, will fix that in 1.0.12 (quicky) tonight
Sorry, looks really sloppy
1.0.11 contains a more moderate advertisement every 2.5 hours, not showing the actual hubs and link, but just the mere hub & user count. If Hub Info is enabled, a short text will follow mentioning to use that command to acquire more detailed information.
If that command is used, all actually connected hubs are shown in PM, with the dc-prefix, and followed by the sourceforge link.
I think this is a good compromise: as always, feel free to comment
