Overview

dbTrek is a set of PHP classes and tools designed to allow database interaction with a variety of different data sources using a common set of commands/methods. dbTrek was conceived after countless projects where information from a variety of datasources were needed to be put on to websites, be it on the internet, a corporate intranet, or even just for simple analysis on a personal web server.

Though dbTrek is largely platform independent, you must have all of the correct ODBC drivers in place on your web server for it to function properly. In other words, do not expect a miracle cure in trying to access SQL2008 from a Linux web server. By the same token, you do not need to deploy to a Win server OS if all you want to use is flat file or mySQL data sources.

The mySQL portion was developed on a Mac OSX web server and then tested on a Windows based web server. Access and MS-SQL were built on a Win32 OS web server.
