Dear all, I am currently working on a semantic model to describe data processing workflows (not necessarily linked data). The DataID ontology but also the DMP extension come in quite handy. However, for my use-case, the concrete storage of the data, people who have access to the storage and different methods of read/write are important features. E.g. queries the system should be able to answer could be * "Were specific datasets within the workflow stored encrypted and transferred using safe/encrypted methods?", * "On which datasets does a specific user/organization has access?" * Or "Which datasets are stored on an ext4 file system?". Before the vocabulary I try to design ends up in a drawer of my desk, I thought I contribute a new data storage and retrieval extension to the DataID ontology. I am currently writing down the requirements in order to derive needed classes and properties. Any ideas and feedback welcome! Best, Sven PS: The link to the DataID Generator (http://dataid.dbpedia.org/) points to a directory, not an application. Hi Sebastian, so DCAT has Catalog defined as "a curated collection of metadata about datasets". There is no explicit property that mirrors the meaning of "DatasetDescription". So we might as well call it a catalog. This resource would then probably link all the dcat:datasets of the dataid with dcat:dataset . Do you think that this is a better way to handle it than using the void property? I think it might be a bit counter intuitive, as argued in my last email. regards, Martin Am 12.08.2014 17:35, schrieb Sebastian Hellmann: > agreed. > so what is the dcat equivalence of void: dataset description ? > seb > > On 12 August 2014 4:47:15 PM GMT+02:00, "Martin Brümmer" > <bru...@in...> wrote: > > Hi Sebastian, > > No, I didn't mean catalog. agreed. so what is the dcat equivalence of void: dataset description ? seb On 12 August 2014 4:47:15 PM GMT+02:00, "Martin Brümmer" <bru...@in...> wrote: >Hi Sebastian, > >No, I didn't mean catalog. Hi Sebastian, No, I didn't mean catalog. I think a DCAT:Catalog is a description of a number of Datasets and although there is a number of DBpedia datasets described there, it is essentially one Dataset - the DBpedia. I think the DBpedia dataset is more of a concept that includes a number of materialized datasets, such as the core dataset and the language versions. This concept is described in that DataID. I think a DCAT:Catalog would be more applicable to a DataID of, for example, the AKSW research group, because it would describe a number of completely different datasets. Do you agree or would you argue that the DBpedia DataID does infact describe a catalog of datasets that is the DBpedia?! regards Am 12-Aug-14 16:21, schrieb Sebastian Hellmann: > Hi Martin, > > I just saw: > > <> a void:DatasetDescription ; > dct:title "DataID of the DBpedia dataset" ; > dct:creator <http://wiki.dbpedia.org/Association> . > > in > > http://dbpedia.org/dataid.ttl > > didn't you mean: > > <> a dcat:Catalog . > > ?? > > > -- > Sebastian Hellmann > AKSW/NLP2RDF research group > Insitute for Applied Informatics (InfAI) and DBpedia Association > Events: > * *Sept. 1-5, 2014* Conference Week in Leipzig, including > ** *Sept 2nd*, MLODE 2014 <http://mlode2014.nlp2rdf.org/> > ** *Sept 3rd*, 2nd DBpedia Community Meeting > <http://wiki.dbpedia.org/meetings/Leipzig2014> > ** *Sept 4th-5th*, SEMANTiCS (formerly i-SEMANTICS) <http://semantics.cc/> > Venha para a Alemanha como PhD: http://bis.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/csf > Projects: http://dbpedia.org, http://nlp2rdf.org, > http://linguistics.okfn.org, https://www.w3.org/community/ld4lt > <http://www.w3.org/community/ld4lt> > Homepage: http://aksw.org/SebastianHellmann > Research Group: http://aksw.org > Thesis: > http://tinyurl.com/sh-thesis-summary > http://tinyurl.com/sh-thesis |
