Hi there, I'm using Debian etch on a thinkpad having moved from debian ppc. I use dbfsd and dbmixer to mix between soundfiles using multiple instances of xmms. This used to work fine on my ppc however, now, when I try to slide th= e crossfader or either of the volume controls in dbmixer it cuts the volume (completely) on the related xmms player. Can anything be done about this? Anybody else out there using dbfsd on debian etch. Anthony |

First, dbmix 0.9.6-2 is out. Grab it from dbmix.sourceforge.net Second, support for auto-crossfading has been added to the cvs version of dbmixer. If you feel adventurous, check out the cvs source from sourceforge (module name should be DBMix-cvs), and lemme know what you think. http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=846 Third, if anyone is actually on this list, please drop me a line at Bo...@us.... I would like to know how many people are on the list, and this info is not available from sourceforge. -Bob "You want to kiss the sky? DBMix 0.9.5 has been released. Now with pitch/speed control and format conversion. See the release notes for more info. Get it from http://sourceforge.net/project/?group_id=846 If you have any problems with it, I can be reached by sending mail to Bo...@us... -Bob "You want to kiss the sky? It's out. The only real change is that I removed the call to exit() from the xmms output plugin. Before, if dbfsd was not running then DBAudioLib would fail to initialize and xmms would exit. Quite a pain if you don't want to use DBMix, but do want ot use xmms! If you want to fix the problem yourself then comment out or remove the "exit(-1);" line from DBMix/xmms_plugin/init.c and recompile. -Bob "You want to kiss the sky? The sourceforge web page for DBMix is now up and running. Check it out at DBMix.sourceforge.net I also hacked together an output plugin for alsaplayer on sunday afternoon. Currently it replaces the oss output plugin. It's a totally inelegant hack, but it allows you to use alsaplayers speed/pitch control until I implement it in DBAudioLib. You can download the binaries of the plugin libraries, or the sourcecode. See the webpage for more information. -Bob "You want to kiss the sky?
