Try the following: $ dblatex -d file.xml ... /tmp/tmpeWt2m_ not removed $ cd /tmp/tmpeWt2m_ $ . env_tex $ pdflatex file_tmp.tex If it fails, check if the env_tex TEXINPUTS variable has ":" separators. If so, replace the ":" separators by ";" in the env_tex file, and try again. $ sed "s/:/;/g" /tmp/tmpeWt2m_/env_tex > /tmp/env_tex && mv/tmp/env_tex /tmp/tmpeWt2m_/. $ . env_tex $ pdflatex file_tmp.tex If env_tex already contains ";" as separators, try the reverse process (replace ";" by ":").
