Design Concepts

The initial release of this application will have tables representing the ENTITIES (tables) and their corresponding ATTRIBUTES (columns). Table types can be identified as logical or physical design elements which means their data types can be generalized or specifically assigned within the domain of possible database platform data types.

The scope of Release 1.0 is limited to a single schema, but the ability to review and compare the contents of multiple schema and even database tiers and instances will be included in future releases.

Versioning

Version capturing and assignment will allow users to review iterative changes and compare planned designs in their schema with existing implementations. The user will be able to apply filters to see just the versions they are interested in viewing.
