At least, not for me.. this is also related to the
'standard plugin' bugs as reported here.

If I download, make and make install the application
(version 2) then the desktop links etc. end up in
/usr/local/kde, wich is NOT the normal directory for
this. After starting dbdesigner in the
/usr/local/kde/bin I get the 'standard plugin' error.

This is because it looks for the plugins in /share/...
and NOT in ./share/..

so it actually requires a share directory from root,
wich is not really normal imo.

Last remark.. ok, so I move the /usr/local/kde/share
dir to /share, then I can start the application. I can
add tables/fields/relations etc, but the 'object' menu
for instance is missing. I can save/load but not export
to a script or database.

In other words, the dirs as it selects with a default
make install are NOT correct.
