#1 Request to continue Project/update code

Hello:

Since ext4 filesystem for Linux is on the horizon, and it will include features for fragmentation control, I respectfully request that the developers and/or Hitachi Corp. consider continuing development of DAVL.

I have successfully built and used it on Fedora Linux 7, 8, and 9. However, the code is stale and may not be acceptable for ext4 and/or future releases of the Linux kernel and associated applications. Up to this point, fragmentation control has been a more-or-less ignored (even ridiculed) issue with Linux OSs, however, that will change with ext4.

I hope that this message reaches the responsible parties.
