I had no problems compiling the source, and installing davfs, however after I mount my remote dav source (with a username and password), and then try to 'ls' the directory, ls hangs forever, and can not be killed.  This is happening on two different boxes, same exact problem.

    box1 kernel: 2.4.10

    box2 kernel: 2.4.4

I've even turned authentication off completely on the remote server (apache running mod_dav), with the same results on both machines.  If I redirect output from the mount.davfs to a log, I get NOTHING??

    ~> /sbin/mount.davfs http://dav.karma.net /home/jcolson/mountpoint > dav.log 2&>1
    ~> more dav.log
    ~> ls /home/jcolson/mountpoint

at this point it hangs forever.  I can open another console and peek at the dav.log, however it is empty.

    heeeelp!  :-)

I can't replicate this - is dav.karma.net still set to have no authentication?

      # ./mount.davfs http://dav.karma.net /dav/test2

      Could not contact server:
      401 Authorization Required
      WebDAV Server error

It might be the problem of '.' and '..'.
Patched Davfs is in CVS. Would you like to check it?

      I apprecaite it.
