My problem now is how to create a swing output using a csv input. I am planning to incorporate this in my java applocation.
As of now Iam testing the files from /examples that is being downloaded together with datavision.
I am using the command line.
datavision -w -e c:\datavision\examples\charsep_data.csv c:\datavision\examples\charsep.xml
the command works fine but it seems that the input file is being ignored because a file dialog will show and i have to select againg the csv file this time using the file dialog box.
can anyone give me the exact syntax wherein DV can create a swing output immediately with out having to go thru file dialog.....tks in advance.
That looks right. You've found a bug in the data source logic. The report asks the data source if it uses data files (by calling the poorly-named DataSource.needsSourceFile()), but doesn't ask it if it needs a data file or already has one. I'll try to fix this in the next release.
Thanks for your help in finding this problem.
As a hackish workaround, you could modify Report.askForDataSourceFile.
