I start the datacrow server with datacrow.credentials file "SA" and it launches fine.

    java -Xmx1024m -jar datacrow-server.jar -userdir:/mnt/RemoteStorage/datacrow -port:9002 -webserverport:9003 -ip:192.168.1.100

Then I login with a client using SA for the username, blank password. I then ADD another user "deranjer", with a password and CHANGE the SA password for security. I save everything, log back in under user "deranjer" to ensure it works and close the server. I update the datacrow.credentials file with the correct NEW SA password and relaunch the server (SA/Password), and get the following error:

ERROR [main] (DcServer.java\:348) - The user could not login, please check the credentials.

I try removing the password and just using SA again, and it fails again, I try using my "deranjer" user with that password (the deranjer user is admin) and that fails as well. How do I secure my server by changing the SA password or using a new user?

There's an issue currently which causes this problem. I'll have to create a fix for this in the next release.

I just upgraded from dc-server-4.1.0 to dc-server-4.2.0. In the previous versions I changed the admin user to XXX and added a password. After upgrading the server does not start. It does not matter if I supply the user/password combination with -credential:XXX/secret or if I put it into a credential file. I get the following error messages:

DEBUG [main] (DatabaseManager.java\:361) - User [SA] cannot login, username/password incorrect
DEBUG [main] (DatabaseManager.java\:361) - User [XXX] cannot login, username/password incorrect
ERROR [main] (DcServer.java\:348) - The user could not login, please check the credentials.

Is this the same problem as mentioned by Jared S? If yes, when do you think you will make the next release?

When I started the server today, everything worked as it should be. I have not changed anything in the set-up, so this is a mystery to me. Well, who cares if it works? But let's keep fingers crossed...
