Since only ever using Terminal twice in 30 years Ion a Mac 'm at an impass. After installing the newest Version of JRE ending with 481. I was told I needed '17' while trying to open Crow installer. There dosn't sem to be a 17!! PLUS any help to using Terminal would be appreciated.

The broken image links could have caused something in the database or settings to save incorrectly, which sometimes leads to the java.lang.NullPointerException on startup. Tested on 5.0.3 (to be released), after making changes to the installer generator libraries; OpenJDK 25 on Linux Mint - installer works.

Ho aggiornato la versione di Data Crow 3.9.14. alla X-Datacrow_3.12.5_rev7, è andato tutto bene, e ho fatto anche il ripristino. Nel riaprire con l’icona di X-Datacrow, mi chiede Utente e password: ho messo SA senza nessuna password, ma mi dice Utente e/o password non corretti. Non ho idea di quale utente e password bisogna inserire. Potete risolvermi questo problema? Grazie.

Data Crow 5.02 Ciao Robert, sono Sergio ti scrivo per dei problemi che sussistono dalla serie 4.1: L’Ordine alfabetico deve essere (crescente o discendente come Word in Windows) per film, attori, registi, Country, trailer ecc… L’ordine alfabetico ( quando in un film si devono aggiungere registi, attori, country, lingue audio e sottotitoli) non deve essere Nè ascendente, né discendente, perché vanno lasciati così come man mano vengono inseriti. Vi sarei molto grato se mi risolvessi questo problema....

I have finally found it. Will be releasing 5.0.3 within the next few weeks. There's an issue with public / local IP setup in Data Crow which results in these kinds of issues.

Hello, as can be seen in the screenshot, in my Modules menu some of the main modules are displayed twice ("Autoren" = authors, and "Buchfiguren" = book characters). I suspect it has to do with the fact that each of these two main modules is referenced in two other main modules. These are only two identical menu entries for the same module each. Is there a way to avoid the doubled menu entries? Thanks in advance!

PPS: I have tried downgrading to 5.0.0 and 5.0.1, and nothing has changed.

PS: With sub-module i mean: However if you choose to no longer show the selected module on the module bar, the referenced module will be displayed in the module list, underneath your (main) module. Via https://datacrow.org/docs/module-design/ And I do not mean a parent-child related module set.

Hello, I have a module (type: Other Module) containing all my DVDs. Within this, I have a sub-module (also type: Other Module) for production companies. The production company module can reference itself, which was working fine in Data Crow 5.0.1 (I’m currently on 5.0.2). This setup includes “Subsidiary” and “Parent Company” fields. The DVDs module can reference the production company module as intended. However, after creating a Film Franchise sub-module under the DVDs module, I can now only reference...

Hi there, It definitely makes sense to have a cleaner, customizable set of columns for the Create Multiple Items dialog—right now it feels a bit overwhelming when it mirrors all the Table View fields. Being able to define a simpler default set would streamline the workflow a lot, especially for quick batch entries. And yes, the dialog forgetting its resized window size can get frustrating fast. It’s a bit like opening a movie app and having it reset your preferred layout every time—you just want...

When adding a movie via online search is there a way to specify what year the movie came out? I'm encountering a problem when adding movies that have a commonly used title. Example; I have the 1997 animated "A Christmas Carol" but because there are SO many movies with that name it does not appear in the 20 results "Online Movie Search" returns. I tried manually adding a new entry with the name and year set then updating it online but that does not seem to change anything. I guess I'll just have to...

Ah, yes. After reworking the import process (and export process) in 5.0 I broke the compatibility towards CSV and XML files generated on older versions. I have my regrets, but that is what it is; yyou cannot import files from older version (pre 5.0).

Hi All of a sudden, datacrow began importing blanks from both XMl and CSV files I thought it may be a problem in the source file, but i've tried modifying it but it has not worked I've tried using different versions of JDK - 11, 17 and 21 - but it hasn't worked either I've also tried oracle's 21, but it also imports blanks any ideas?

Hi I just upgraded to 5.0.1 from 4.11 The program freezes after choosing a user folder it seems to run but it ends on the same set up screen Doesn´t matter if it is a new folder or an existing one, it is the same result It happens both clicking the jar file and running it on terminal I have root privileges I'm using kubuntu 24.04 and jdk 21
