The same .jar file works on windows, so it must be something to do with my linux setup for java...But the documentation said that java 1.4.x is probably ok...while 1.5 was recommended. I tried following options: 1. Installing only program files 2. Using gij instead of java 3. Using esom-1.0-installer.jar but to no avail.
