Although normally functioning Classic Controller buttons do indeed function when assigned an action other than "Key" (such as an arrow key, enter, or a mouse click), any character inputed into the Key action is not produced upon button press.
The "Key" action does not work on my classic controller either. Neither do the function keys (e.g. F1, F2, etc.) However, the other assignments work (e.g. return, tab, etc.)
