A new beta of the DaCapo benchmark suite is now available for
download at http://dacapobench.org/
Please use the dacapobench mailing lists to provide feedback. We are
hoping to make our first major release in a few weeks, feedback is
particularly appreciated right now!
If you're using the DaCapo benchmarks, we encourage you to sign up to
one or more of the mailing lists.
From the release notes:
1. The xalan benchmark has been re-written. This version has a more
realistic workload (following feedback from domain experts). We also
force the use of version 2.4.1 and ensure that xalan is used (rather
than a bundled xlt processor). [Thanks to Kev Jones of Intel!]
2. The validation mechanism has been completely overhauled (this is
used to ensure successful benchmark completion). It should now work
properly on any OS (we discovered CRLF issues), and deals with the
users' pwd which creeps into some benchmark output. [Thanks to Robin
Garner of ANU!]
3. The lusearch benchmark has been improved, so that each query
thread includes a mix of unique and shared queries (previously all
queries were unique).
4. The build system has been improved considerably and is a little
