When saving a level that is a non-XL level (e.g. a D1, D2+vertigo level) the color light and the texture brightness settings are jumbled while the color light palette are set to the value of 255 (blank). If you take a look at (for example) level 12 or 15 of Nefarious Assault (via DLE), you can see that the lighting and color light data are messed up upon save. I tried resetting the brightness and color values and then save but when I reload it, the brightness goes to the wrong textures.
