#2786 1.17.73 Games crashes with Out of Memory Error

I have been playing Vertigo series and have a consistent crash at the same point in the game when shooting a particular robot. This is a repeatable crash and happens with all 3 engine versions.
I start in full screen mode. The level crashes, the screen goes white, I then click and get an Out of Memory dialog. I close that and I get a screen sized window showing the main menu. I can restart the level but there is no sound. I haven't tried to crash it again from here.
I have included player files, log file and saved game.

In the log file I have marked where the file is written to when it crashes. Note also the Invalid weapon error which is marked >>>.

The savegame is just before contact with the robot that crashes the game.

Cannot reproduce the crash, but fixed the cause of the invalid weapon render type (and as a consequence, hopefully also the crash).
