In d2x-xl it appears to be possible to glitch through walls. To reproduce accelerate towards a wall, then open the map right before colliding with the wall, the player's indicator in the map will continue moving and when the map is closed the player will be on the other side of the wall.
I have only tested this with "grate" walls, walls that show up as an X on the map. The savegame is positioned towards the wall i was testing with. I attempted to make a demo but was unsuccessful, d2x-xl kept complaining about demo corruption. I will try again later and upload it should I be successful.

Fixed - player ship will be stopped dead in its tracks when the automap gets opened.
