Well.. getting closer and closer. Currently I can't
create a new game.

Using D2 1.04B, FSGS 0.7.1.26, latest win32 of mysqld-
opt, as well as the new .1 realmserver & D2Realm
executables. (FSGS readme indicates support only up to
1.04)

What happens visually:
I click open battle.net in multiplayer options.
I get into the chat channel/game creator screen fine.
I go to create game.. name & description only.
The load screen appears, and the red bar makes it just
short of the end and sits there for a few secs. Then
the I get the "Failed to create game" msg, and it
throws me back into the channel screen.

Error I'm seeing in D2Realm window:
26.05.01 18:50:58 Diablo II Game Connection attempt
from 24.xx.xx.xx
26.05.01 18:50:58 Commandsize not in CmdTable, CmdID 60
26.05.01 18:50:58 Possible Size 2d

Any ideas? Issue with table in mysql base?

I'm using the 'open battle.net' option, I'm assuming
that's how I'm supposed to connect.. as I've never
been able to get just the 'battle.net' option to work
with FSGS & your exe's. If I try to click just the
battle.net button, I get the FSGS realm connect screen
but nothing happens. No 'CONNECTING' message.

Yes, this is very similar to what I get.

Make sure you hex-edit the IP addresses in BOTH binaries
    (realmserver.exe AND d2realm.exe)

Start "realmserver.exe" and you should just get a blank dos-
    box.

Then start "d2realm.exe" and you will get another dos-box
with the following text in it:-

    --------------------------------------
    -Start text sample of d2realm.exe-----

    10.04.00 20:34:42 Diablo II Gameserver 0.1b1290 Win32 Built
    Apr 8 2001 18:17:34
    10.04.00 20:34:42 Loading Items...
    10.04.00 20:34:42 Loading Monsters...
    10.04.00 20:34:42 Loading Treasures...
    10.04.00 20:34:42 Loading Objects...
    10.04.00 20:34:42 Loading Skills...
10.04.00 20:34:42 Setting up Diablo II Game Listener

    -End text sample of d2realm.exe------
    -------------------------------------

You _SHOULD_ now notice that the dos-box
containing "realmserver.exe" should have suddenly reported
    the following text :-

    -------------------------------------------
    -Begin text sample of realmserver.exe------

    10.04.00 20:34:42 Received 16 bytes from 127.0.0.1:1056
    10.04.00 20:34:42 Startup GameServer at 127.0.0.1:1056 with
    200 games

    -End text sample of realmserver.exe----------
    ---------------------------------------------

This text in "realmserver.exe" show's that it has opened a
    connection to "d2realm.exe".

My problem is that when I start a realm game I can log in,
it retrieves the character from the database, I can then
    enter the chat room.
I then press "create game", give the game a name then hit
OK and off it goes and starts creating a game (the image of
the cloaked figure standing before the doors). Then I also
get the "failed to create game" message. If I quickly
press "Join Game" once I drop back to the chat room I can
see the game I created but it has 255 players and they are
either garble or a load of amazon's all at different
levels... Any idea's... I am using patch 1.04c. Patch 1.04b
does the same thing, 1.05 stops when it tries to get your
character list from the server, 1.03 can't connect...

What patch level of diablo 2 was this realm server designed
    to work with?

The output from the "realmserver.exe" dos-box is something
    about "CObject-something : can't un-register an object that
    has not been registered" ...

Any idea's. How many people have got this working to the
stage of actually being able to create and play a closed
    realm-game?

Would any-one be so kind as to post their binaries and
    configs somewhere?

    Any help appreciated,

    Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify the error message that I recieve, the error
is not from realmserver.exe, its from d2realm.exe and is as
    follows...

    -------------------------------------------------------

I also get the following errors in FSGS (version 0.7.2.1
    (build 99):

    13.04.01 22:56:00 No Socket for udp from 192.168.0.100 (R).

    and the other error is

    13.04.01 22:55:02 Can't open file c:\fsgs\data\bnserver.ini

Can someone explain what the first error means and where I
    can get bnserver.ini from?

I tried to get the bnserver.ini from
ftp.net-games.com\fsgs\Public_Beta\ but it always times out...

I am currently running the server on WinDoze 98SE, P3 850,
786 MB ram. Heaps of HDD space etc.
