That's true CD does not support Java but it's not intentionally not supporting it.
It's because QtWebKit itself does not support loading it:

QWebSettings::JavaEnabled   2   Enables or disables Java applets. 
                                    Currently Java applets are not supported

However, I don't mind at all if there is no Java applet support they are so 1995 and huge security risk today according to security researchers.

I respect that applets are performant, but I consider them to pose an significant vulnerability vector.
