Plans for next version

Hi

Have been thinking about what new features to put into the next version
and here are the possible candinates:

  • HTTPS everywhere functionality. If you know HTTPS Everywhere extension from EFF then
yes, this would try to do similar thing than that extension.
For those unfamiliar of that extension it will try make browser always use
an https-enabled version of some site, if available. Many sites have both http:// and
https:// sites but usually only http:// is enabled by default.
Also some of those https:// sites use self-signed certificates, mixed content or are
    otherwise broken.
I expect this feature to need a lot of time and testing and Im not going to
enable it by default in the next version of CD untill I know for sure that it will work.

  • SSH tunneling. This is something that has been in my mind for very long time.
Normally when you wanted to use SSH tunneling with your browser you had to use some
third party setup (like PuTTY with Windows). What I want is to do that straight into
the CyberDragon. I expect this to take even more time.

  • Update CyberDragon to use Qt 5.3. Qt 5.3 will be released on sometimes during April.
It's Windows version should have finally some bug fixes, most importantly for me is the
PDF rendering bug. If you try to open PDF link with CyberDragon it will not show
correctly at all because there is an bug in the way that current Qt 5.2
QtWebkit module handles PDF. So Im hoping that nice Qt folks have fixed in Qt 5.3.

  • Maybe do some work with proxy tab and maybe a feature or two.

Also, I have created new "Optimized and Experimental" folder to
https://sourceforge.net/projects/cyberdragonbrowser/files/

That's the place I am now going to use for versions of CyberDragon that are optimized for
some specific processor are otherwise considered highly experimental and not for normal use.
That is they are not really "official" versions.

If you have one of those old Pentium processors (Pentium Pro, Pentium 2, Pentium 3 or Pentium 4) or one of those Intel Atom processors then I would be very interested how these versions worked with your machine.

Oldest machine that I have here for testing purposes is only Pentium 4 and other machines have
Core 2 and Core i3.

Surf Safe!
