Hi everyone

The interfaces for the data_view widget are now checked in.  They're
quite bulky, and not quite elegant enough for my taste.  Now is a good
time to peek at the code and criticize the design, before I get too
carried away with the implementation...

The GTK implementation should be finished sometime on Sunday.  The
Windows version will follow during the week.
