Never mind. I tried again and it worked. Not sure what I did.

I have downloaded the source code as I couldn't get it to work with the Installer either. 
When running my script I get this error: 
 
Traceback (most recent call last):
   File  "file.py", line 9, in <module>
  conn = cx_oracle.connect(dbconnect_string)
NameError: global name 'cx_Oracle' is not defined
 
 
I tried to install the cx_oracle as suggested, but this happened:
 
>python setup.py build
running build
running build_ext
building 'cx_Oracle' extension
error: Unable to find vcvarsall.bat
 
Can someone please assist me. I'm running XP, oracle 10, and Python 2.7, 
I'm not really a whiz with binaries/source/and console work...
