The Python MySQL cursor object returns the number of rows modified when the execute method is called. Does cx_oracle have something comparable (it seems not to return anything when doing an curs.execute("....")? The Python db API does not require anything to be returned from the execute method, but I like the feature. I mainly use it to see if something was modified rather than actual looking at how many rows where modified.
