I tried it with an rpm as well, and found that the rpm was placing 
cx_Oracle.so in the wrong directory.  If you want an rpm that will work, 
email me directly and I'll send you the one I made.

Anthony T, you're welcome to contact me as well if you want my modified 
spec file and/or rpm for Red Hat ES3.
