[cx-oracle-users] connection.ping()

Hi,
I had a DB machine crash, but the client doing a connection.ping() didnt 
notice! I have previously tested connection.ping() by shutting
down the databse, and it allways caught the loss of database.

Are there any known  issues with connection.ping()?
