[cx-oracle-users] "OCIClientVersion" not found in oci.dll

Hello,

on a number of computers with an

Oracle 10.1.0 Client

and I am trying to use cx_Oracle 4.4.10g

import cx_Oracle

fails on loading, yielding a dialog-field with the message:

Der Prozedureinsprungpunkt "OCIClientVersion" wurde in der DLL
"OCI.dll" nicht gefunden.

which roughly translates to

procedure entry point OCIClientVersion was not found in DLL OCI.dll

What is wrong? How can I fix it?
