[cx-oracle-users] Installation of cx_Oracle 5.1.1

Hi all,
I have a question according to the installation of cx_Oracle 5.1.1. I'm
using  Oracle Database 10g xe universal Rel.10.2.0.1.0 on Ubuntu 10.04
64-bit for a django project with python 2.6. I try to install cx_Oracle
5.1.1 but after the build i get errors like these:

The instant client is the 10.2.x.x. Is it compatible?

Do you have both installed: python development headers/libs and instant 
client SDK?

Yes, although I'm not sure if the version of the instant client (10.2.x.x.)
i installed is compatible with cx_Oracle 5.1.1 because the build
instructions in it are for instant client 11.1.x.x. but I use oracle 10g xe
so I guess that i must have the 1st one. Am I right?

With instant client version doesn't matter, so you can use never 11 version
with older database. I can check which versions do I use at work.

Oh, do you have 64 bit instant client and sdk?

Yes, I'm using instant client 11.1

Also I've done the following as a root user:

cd /opt
unzip /tmp/oracle-instantclient11.2-basic-11.2.0.1.0-1.x86_64.zip
unzip /tmp/oracle-instantclient11.2-sdk-11.2.0.1.0-1.x86_64.zip
ln -s instantclient_11_2 instantclient
cd instantclient
ln -s libclntsh.so.11.1 libclntsh.so
echo /opt/instantclient > /etc/ld.so.conf.d/instantclient.conf
ldconfig
