No, you did not make a mistake. User defined types are not currently
supported by cx_Oracle but I do have plans to do that at some point --
hopefully soon but recently I've been rather busy so I wouldn't count on
anything in the next couple of months. In the meantime your best option
is to use PL/SQL in your executed statement and pass back to Python
scalar types.
