At the moment only a single cell selection is displayed, and clearly the entire line should be marked as selected. Also, we should allow for multi-line selections, both contiguous and scattered throughout the file.

Angus Chan submitted a patch that happily fixes the first of
these two problems, namely that of marking the entire line
as selected. I suspect that this also points the way
towards fixing the other half (multi-line selection), but I
haven't had the time to look at that yet.
