Can't checkout module w/ year based major rev

I am having trouble checking out a module.  It fails with the message below.  When I check the metadata tmp files I see that the checkout directory has all of the files, and the history.log file is there, but metadata.dat file is not there (as it is on modules that checkout correctly).  I susspect the problem is that I use year based major revisions (ie 2004.2)
so that some files get created without ever having a revsion 1.1.

Any way to bypass the revision 1.1 issue?

Yep :)

Port the fix from 0.7 into 0.6.3 and help me release a 0.6.4.
