Is there a way a use the cron to update the modules periodically?

  well.. this command keeps telling that:
  
  Not config module found. Run cvsmonitor.pl first, and setup the application at ./cvsexec.pl line 68.
  BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ./cvsexec.pl line 70.
